This year’s 2022 Polk County State of the Community Event was held at the Coke Museum in downtown
Cedartown. The Polk County Chamber of Commerce hosts this annual event for community leaders to
give a year in review and goals set for the current and new year. This event would not have been
possible without our Presenting Sponsors, Atrium Health and Georgia Power as well as our other
sponsors Carroll EMC, Oglethorpe Power, The Development Authority of Polk County and Peach State
Ford. We enjoyed a delicious meal from Pirkle’s Deli! They have the friendliest staff and amazing food.
The speakers of the evening included, State Representative Trey Kelley, Commissioner Hal Floyd,
Commissioner Jessica Payton, Mayor Sherman Ross, Dr. Katie Thomas, Mr. Chris Thomas, Mrs. Marianne
Wood, Mr. Patrick Harris, Mr. Matt Gorman and Ms. Tifani Kinard. It was great to hear all the amazing
things Polk County has been busy working on this past year and things we can look forward to in 2022!
